5 Years as Executive Producer of the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500
The SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 is an internationally recognized competition used to raise awareness of the skilled trades. The event includes as many as 24 regional series events across North America, culminating in the World Championship, held annually in Las Vegas at the World of Concrete.
For nearly five years I managed and led our teams through all aspects of promoting this event, including event scheduling and promotion all the way through production and the final broadcast.
I also managed the sponsor relationship with power brands like Ford, STIHL, Hilti, Stabila, Kubota, Marshalltown and more. Building great relationships with industry partners is essential to the long-term success of this event.
Award Winning Television Producer, Editor and Photojournalist
For nearly a decade I cut my teeth as a content expert working in television. I began my broadcasting career as a sports intern for KAKE-TV, shooting everything from the NFL to high school wrestling. I later transitioned that role into an editor position and then a cable news channel producer. During my time at KAKE I covered a ton of big stories, but none bigger than the re-emergence of BTK.
Once I was ready for a bigger role, I applied for and landed a job as a photojournalist at WYFF-TV in Greenville, SC. WYFF was a more feature driven photography station, and my brief time there helped me build a real understanding of what it takes to create high-quality, broadcast-worthy content.
Once I was ready to tackle a bigger market I got an opportunity at WRAL-TV, one of the most decorated new organizations in the country. For nearly 7 years I worked on honing my craft and won a few awards along the way.
But I am most proud of my time working to promote the music industry. For several years at WRAL I published a video blog feature local artists, and helped to spread the word about the incredible talent that plays almost nightly in the City of Oaks.
